Join Marblehead Youth Baseball and the 12 Year Old Cooperstown Team Friday June 16th beginning at 4:30pm for a fundraiser field day competition which will include the home run derby, golden arm (fastest pitch) and inside the park relay. There will be food, music, and prizes for winners of each competition based upon the players league; Single A, Double A, Triple A and Majors.
Following the youth festivities, the 12 year old team will also host a Glory Days Home Run Derby for all those 13+ who still think they have what it takes to hit one out of Gatchells park (softballs of course).

When: Friday June 16th or Sunday June 18th (Rainout)

4:30pm – Player Check in/ Event Commencement / Announcements
5:30pm – Inside the park relay $5/player – teams of 4 by league
Four Players per team. A team of four players will compete in a timed relay race. Using a baseball as the baton each of the four players will run an inside the park homerun passing the ball off at home to the next runner. The top three times after round one will each get a second chance to improve their time. Best time wins no matter which round it happened in.
6:00pm – Golden Arm ($10 pp) – by league
Players will compete to demonstrate their arm speed from the pitching mound. Each player will make a total of 5 throws to a catcher. Fastest pitch (not including wild pitches) wins!
Home Run Derby 6:30pm ($20 pp) home run modified based on league (Single A, Double A, Triple A, Majors).
Batters will get 10 outs per round. Any swing that does not result in a homerun will count as out. There will be two rounds. Round one is for all players. Round two is for the top 8 players from round one. To advance to round 2 you must hit at least 1 homerun in round one. Each batter will choose their own pitcher. If there is a tie for 6th all players that are tied will advance unless less than 8 players hit homeruns. There are no special bat requirements for homerun derby play. The winner will be the player with the most total homeruns in round 1 and 2 combined. Each team will get a combined score as well totaling the homeruns from both of their contestants.
